First of May in Cuba from the groove of Artemisa
Because food production, the sugar harvest, investments and the transformation of vulnerable neighborhoods will characterize the celebration of May Day 2022, this Sunday began in Artemisa with massive volunteer work in cane planting.
Together with the members of the Political Bureau Gladys Martínez Verdecia and Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, secretary of the Party in the province and leader of the working class, respectively, in the UBPC Rigoberto Corcho joined hundreds of hands, to plant some ten hectares of the grass, among the more than 100 planned for the current campaign. The occasion, in which Guilarte de Nacimiento, called for the celebration of the party of the proletariat in parades, acts, rallies throughout Cuba, was a pretext to award the National Vanguard Flag, to the EsAzúcar Base Business Unit, of the Sugar Workers union, who obtained equal recognition in 2020. Meanwhile, the UBPC Battle of the Guásimas, Felipe Herrera and the Western Honey Plant Unit, of the Union of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers, achieved equal merit for their performance in 2021. Upon fulfilling the planting plan for the sweet crop in the previous year, the trade union also decided to recognize the Host Unit of the volunteer work, located in the provincial capital, and the José Martí Unit, from the municipality of San Cristóbal. Rafael Santisteban Pozo, National President of Anap, highlighted the CCS Flores Betancourt and Marcos Martí, in addition to the CPA José Martí, for their contributions to sugarcane production, motivated after the 61st anniversary of the founding of the peasant organization, last may 17th. For the first time, the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba awarded the United those who love and found the trophy to two young people from Artemis: Dr. Jobalsán Horta Valle, director of the Molecular Biology Laboratory in Mariel, and Master Yuliesky Amador Echevarría, professor at the University of Artemisa and a member of the Gender Justice Project.
