Fewer particles to the atmosphere in Torrefactora de Cienfuegos
At the Torrefactora de Café, in the province of Cienfuegos, they carried out a repair that enabled the assembly of the forced draft fan of the gas extraction system to minimize the emission of particles into the atmosphere, as part of the plant process.
The engineer Bárbara Ponce Torres, general director of the base business unit (UEB), told Workers that production has already stabilized and distribution has resumed for the population's basic basket.
Until the end of May, the Cienfuegos plant had delivered 336 tons, out of a plan of 250, for a 34 percent overcompliance. The provinces of Havana, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, Camagüey, Las Tunas and, logically, Cienfuegos, received processed coffee in that UEB.
The measures applied made it possible to save 200 liters of diesel and 5,458 kilowatt of electricity. The director of that entity highlighted the remarkable effort made by the members of the group, since they have worked continuously since October, including weekends and early mornings.
