Cuba's largest organization celebrated its 61st anniversary in Sierra de Cubitas
It was an idea of ??Fidel. There, in the first months after the popular triumph of 1959, and in response to the multiple aggressions of the United States, the largest organization in Cuba was born on September 28, 1960: the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR).
Not even the shadows that an implacable pandemic now casts diminished the pride of an institution that is genuine property of each Cuban, and that now had to be celebrated without the festive flight of other moments, although this did not prevent joy from being the protagonist again. Camagüey celebrated the anniversary, attached to sanitary measures, in the community of Imías, in the northern municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, Vanguardia Nacional, a condition that summarizes the virtues of a work that escapes from formalism and that is appreciated in every point of its red earths. The cederista threads of the municipality have been led for a little over twelve months by the young Yudeimi Calero Ibáñez, who highlighted the teamwork achieved, synthesized in an integration of more than 14,000 people and having complete the base and local structures . One of their reasons of pride is to comply with voluntary blood donations month after month, and in this the Detachment based precisely in Imías stands out, where they were also recognized for their contributions to the common good and the actions of the organization, Clinic No. 15 of the Family Doctor, the UBPC 35 Anniversary, the UEB of Machinery for Various Crops and the Mariana Grajales Seminary. Santos Menéndez, the charismatic, the simple man, the one loved and appreciated by all, had his special space: he received the medal for the Defense of the Homeland and the Unity of the Neighborhood, a merit that has been earned for his perseverance and dedication, that example that radiates daily in this, his adopted land. Zone 11, which brings together seven committees, showed a permanent activity, and achieved the National Vanguard award, and three of its CDRs (2, 6 and 7) reached provincial Vanguards, an additional incentive to continue doing more for Cuba. , and for all its people.
