When exchanging with leaders and their technical teams, he recognized the advances in the use of different technologies and work systems implemented up to the base structures, to boost the production of that important economic and exportable region that has the challenge of closing 2022 with the renovated and sealed areas. Legra reiterated the recognition of the Second Front town as the one with the best contributions in coffee technologies in Cuba and mentioned actions such as the production of seedlings in tubes, cuttings, grafts and Vietnamese models. Also the extension of the use of the canavalia shrub in more than 400 hectares, seven soil conservation polygons in those mountains, plus three base structures that are schools and one in execution where producers and workers are trained in good cultivation practices. In the Third Front, the largest cherry tree producer in the country, he appreciated various grafting techniques in the field, cuttings, descopes, management by rotation of the axes in the Robusta variety, the Vietnamese style planting with 60 by 60 cm holes and the incorporation of 10 kilograms of organic matter. The main thing is to comply with the provisions of the Coffee Development Program included in the Guidelines of the Communist Party of Cuba, to grow in the renovation of old plantations and seal the recovered ones with the challenge of concluding with this strategy in the year 2023, argued the director of Coffee, Cacao and Coco to the Cuban News Agency. When evaluating the compliance of the plantations and replanting of the current year, he recognized that all the entities propose to fulfill the coffee stockpiles and take into account the crops that exhibit in their green a fruit production above 70 percent in relation to the past harvest. In addition, the general directors of Agroforestry Companies of the province of Guantánamo participated in the work tour. The 2021 coffee harvest is being prepared in the country amid a complex situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States on the Island, exacerbated by the scarcity of resources, which forces apply alternatives in the localities.
