In the Yumurino territory, 300 hectares were planted with the national seed in correspondence with the promotion strategy of that demanded line, to achieve the harvest in February and start the sale to the population. Carlos Luis Naranjo Suárez, delegate of Agriculture in Matanzas, specified that the province planted more than 1,300 hectares, the largest bulk of the plan, in areas that show good vegetative development such as in the Gispert Unit. Among the favorable conditions for this crop in the current campaign, the humidity of the soils, the tillage of the lands, the innovations of machines for the irrigation of the tuber and proper management stand out.
