Urges Valdés Mesa in Matanzas to permanent exchange with producers
Salvador Valdés Mesa, vice president of Cuba, urged to maintain a permanent exchange with producers in the agricultural sphere of the country, based on the 63 measures approved by the Government to enhance food production and labor productivity in the field.
The member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) said this Saturday that these measures adopted by the country already have legal norms and it is necessary to communicate and explain to the peasants so that they know their duties and rights in their management, along with the application of science, technique and innovation in the work to achieve better results. Valdés Mesa, accompanied by Liván Izquierdo Alonso, first secretary of the Party in the province of Matanzas, and Idael Pérez Brito, minister of agriculture, confirmed the productive potential of the territory and the favorable experience of producers who put their hearts into working with the land . Yens Martín Tirado, the best grain producer in the country, at his El Rincón farm, belonging to the Alberto Delgado Agricultural Production Cooperative, from the Perico municipality, showed high yields in the harvest of corn, beans, bananas, fruits and a healthy pumpkin plantation, from which a good harvest is also expected. During the visit to areas of the Genetic Livestock Company of Matanzas, Salvador Valdés Mesa urged farmers to produce more milk to substitute imports, due to the high costs of this powdered feed in the international market and the difficult economic situation that the world due to the scourge of the Covid-19 pandemic. He called to take advantage of the wisdom of the peasants who have been dedicated to cultivating the land for many years, after listening to Remberto Blanco Pérez, Michel Blanco's grandfather, a young man in charge of the batch of the F 37 machine of the Cooperative Production Unit (UBPC ) La Rueda, belonging to the Lenin Agricultural Company, from Jovellanos. The leader confirmed the promotion of henequen in Limonar, the seed bank of the UBPC Gispert, in Colón, and the current situation of the Matanzas Agroindustrial Grain Company, located in Calimete, in which in Batey Nuevo, they encourage the breeding of fingerlings and ducks on a par with rice, an experience used in Asian countries with commendable results. Arsenio González, director of the Victoria de Girón Agroindustrial Company, of Jagüey Grande, a productive and exporting pole, explained to the Cuban Vice President the diversification of productions in that entity that grows fruits, various crops, has livestock and grows in areas to plant guava bound for industry and the population. Matanzas is one of the territories with the greatest productive potential in Cuba, said Valdés Mesa, noting the richness of its soils, groundwater, the largest tourist center for sun and beach, the production of hydrocarbons, and the development of the State Enterprise Socialist, which in tune with the times has to play its fundamental role in the economy.
