Increased milk delivery, more visible impact of the new prices

Despite the fact that the figures still do not reach the liters forecast for this period, giant steps are being taken for the gradual increase and compliance, at least, with the plan for the months of November and December. As reported by Jorge Luis Hechavarría Lozada, Deputy Delegate of Livestock in the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture, before November 1, the date on which the regulations came into force, in this province about 59 thousand liters of milk were collected every day; However, based on these provisions, we have collected more than 68,000 newspapers. Jorge Luis Hechavarría Lozada Subdelegate of Livestock Jorge Luis Hechavarría Lozada, Subdelegate of Livestock in the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture In these regulations, which have as a common denominator the increase in deliveries, it was established that the new amounts of the collection of fresh milk in the field or the producer's warehouse, they will reach a maximum of 20.00 pesos per liter; and depending on the fulfillment of certain quality indicators, they may decrease to 17.00 and 5.00 pesos. Regarding the overcompliance of the plan, it will be paid at prices agreed between the parties, which must be reflected in the contract that both sign. Hechavarría Lozada explained that the parameters to be taken into account to define the quality of the milk are 20.00 pesos when its density is greater than or equal to 1,030 grams per milliliter (g / ml); 17.00 pesos if this is greater than or equal to 1,029 g / ml and will drop to 5.00 pesos when the indices are lower than the previous one. Regarding the penalties, the subdelegate stated that the regulations clearly state that "in case of non-compliance, the producer will compensate the industry with a value of 10.00 pesos for each liter and vice versa, when the Dairy Company fails to comply with the Pick up at the agreed places and times ". Among the novelties, the source itself reported, is the daily payment to farmers and the increase in the price for the milk hauling, now 1.15, 1.30 or 1.40 depending on the mileage. In addition, the value of goat's milk was increased, which amounts to 21.00 pesos per liter and that of buffalo will be according to agreement. In recent days, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Dairy Company toured the eight municipalities of Las Tunas to detail the benefits to farmers of the recent regulations and clarify doubts. In these meetings optimism with the new taxes was evidenced and other concerns related to individual tests by the Dairy Industry and the preparation of other cold spots to collect more liters and support the increase in production were highlighted. Livestock18 Based on the agreed prices, hiring will be a vital element in this scenario, since everything is based on the sections reflected in that legal document. “The producer has to know what his contract is, it is necessary to define what he must deliver and then what goes for commercialization through other productive forms of management. The lack of efficiency in the contracting processes still has a negative impact on the collection of milk for the industry and that is a process that must be perfected in a hurry, ”said the deputy delegate. Likewise, he recommended that livestock farmers update the movement of herds and carry out the corresponding certification with the Livestock Control Center (Cencop) before contracting the milk plan for next year, since the plans will be closely linked to the livestock mass: 520 liters for those who have one to 10 cows and 550 liters for those who have more than 10. Now it is more essential than ever to increase livestock culture, which includes increasing the food and protein base of the animals, looking for alternatives for a stable supply of water and betting on excellence in bovine reproduction and hygiene in milking, factors that also influence the growth of milk production. Undertaking an objective program, which allows each farmer in this territory to provide more milk and meat, should be among the priorities. Getting off the ground in this program based on control, responsibility and new marketing opportunities is the great challenge, as is putting science and knowledge into practice in favor of food production.
