This is reflected in the work in the 6 productive poles of the territory, in addition to the fry recovery program, in which 23 hectares of fry are already available and at the end of the year it is planned to have 52 to increase yields.

Advances in the economic order of Guantánamo are also evidenced by having the Altoserra Coffee Processing Company, the first export pole in the territory, which already markets its products to some 10 countries in Europe, Asia, and Canada.

On the other hand, work is being done on the creation of another exporting pole in Baracoa, a municipality that has several items such as coffee, cocoa, coconut, natural coal and eel, with potential for sale abroad.

The easternmost province also shows significant achievements in social sectors such as Public Health, which exhibits zero maternal mortality rate and maintains the investment program at the Doctor Agosthino Neto General Teaching Hospital where conditions in various areas are improved.

Other indisputable achievements are the results in the different levels of education and in the third improvement of the educational system, as well as the contributions of the students and professors of the University of Guantánamo to the socioeconomic progress of the territory.

These advances are the result of the fulfillment of the Moncada program, indicators that demonstrate the transformations in the different sectors in a territory where before 1959 the people suffered from illiteracy, lack of medical care, prostitution, eviction of peasants and others ills.
