Agricultural Worker Day: The Example We Need
The benchmark of optimal performance that the basic unit of cooperative production (UBPC) Gispert means for the Ministry of Agriculture has just been awarded the 80th Anniversary Seal of the founding of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), which recognizes outstanding results in the production of goods and services.
Palpable in this group was the joy of receiving the high encouragement from the hands of the member of the Party's Political Bureau and general secretary of the CTC, Ulises Guilarte De Nacimiento, during the culmination of the national day for October 3, Agricultural Worker Day , which took place in areas of this UBPC, located in the Matanzas municipality of Colón. Guilarte highlighted the extraordinary achievements of this productive base, which this Sunday also celebrated its 28 years consecrated "as an example of what we want to achieve in the agricultural sector", a compliment previously made by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, who after visiting it , considered that "it is the UBPC that we need." With 120 associates and 88 usufructuaries, Gispert transcends the use of science and technology in various crop activities, in the rice harvest, livestock and a tuber such as potatoes, its main line, although in recent years it has ventured with strength in promoting banana. Moments of high emotion constituted the delivery of awards to four workers with 50 years of uninterrupted work in agriculture; and the award to this body of the Merit to Humanism, Sensitivity and Solidarity seal for "the demonstration and sense of belonging of the Yumurino farmers, foresters and tobacco growers in the confrontation with COVID-19." Before the ceremony for this date that coincided with the promulgation in 1963 of the Second Agrarian Reform Law, the authorities of the province participated in the execution of works for the good of the community in a district close to the UBPC Gispert. Néstor Bárbaro Hernández Martínez, general secretary of the national union, was in charge of congratulating the workers. Also in attendance were the first secretary of the Party in Matanzas, Liván Izquierdo Alonso; the Minister of Agriculture Ydael Jesús Pérez Brito and other political and governmental authorities of the territory.
