For the Central Enidio Díaz, in Granma, the 2021-2022 sugar harvest begins today, December 2, according to the first vice president of the Sugar Business Group (AZCUBA), José Carlos Santos.
The official affirmed that this harvest will begin in the most complex conditions in the history of agriculture, based on the global crisis caused by Covid-19 and the intensification of the blockade, which have prevented the acquisition of supplies, parts and pieces. José Carlos Santos explained that it will be a short contest, with low agricultural yields, to be held in difficult conditions, so it is necessary to work with dedication to be able to succeed. Despite the drawbacks, he stressed that there is the motivation and willingness of the peasants and workers to take on the task, as well as the will of the leaders to achieve the results that are expected from the harvest.
