This company practiced felling the Guanahacabibes flora. There were exploiting dealers such as: Fito Rego, Marcelino Rodríguez, Antonio Garrido, in La Jarreta and Juan Colmenares, from La Jarreta to La Furnia in Cabo Corriente to give two examples.

The Busto family was a tenant; Genaro del Busto was dedicated to the exploitation of wood, which he sawed in a mountain he owned, located in La Jarreta. He extracted cujes from the forest for the process of growing black tobacco and producing coal.

Transport of forest products

The wood was cut and exported by sea. For this, a barge with two bongos was used: El Sábalo by Marcelino Rodríguez and the boats: El Fajul, El Oliva, El Glenda and La Evangelina.

The ships loaded wood in bolus, cujes, coal and sawn wood and in small amounts of honey, majaguas and ropes.

The wood and by-products of the forest were transferred from the Guanahacabibes Peninsula to La Fe, Arroyos de Mantua, Santa Lucia and from these destinations, the wood was sent to Havana, through the shipping coasters of the shipping companies that operated to the town of Vueltabajo on the north coast.
