As of December 2020, 15 exporting production poles had been identified in the country - understood as conglomerates that bring together companies, independent farmers and cooperatives, preparing to export their own productions - and, of these, four already have companies authorized to carry out activities focused on the international market, Vivian Herrera Cid, director of Foreign Trade, of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex) told Granma. The four poles with these conditions to date are: Empresa Agroindustrial Ceballos, from Ciego de Ávila; Asdrúbal López Coffee Processing Company, from Guantánamo; Agroindustrial Victoria de Girón Company, and the Exporting Pole of the Oriente Region. Ceballos and Victoria de Girón, he exemplified, show an increase in sales to tourism and other sectors, as well as have incorporated exports of productive forms from other provinces, including forms of non-state management. «Asdrúbal López achieved, at the end of 2020, its first direct export through Cubaexport; Meanwhile, the East Region Export Pole, which brings together entities from the Agricultural Group and the Agroforestry Business Group with the Empresa Mixta Tropical Contramaestre sa, had carried out, in the third quarter, the first shipments of essential oil and fruit concentrates ». According to Herrera Cid, special attention is given to the poles that must be established, among them, the companies Agroindustrial de Granos Sur del Jíbaro, Agroforestal and Coco Baracoa, and Agroindustrial Jesús Montané Oropesa.
