Constituted Business Unit of Integral Logistics Base in Contramaestre
The province of Santiago de Cuba constituted its first Base Business Unit for the integral logistics of the agricultural sector and it did so in the municipality of Contramaestre.
The entity has been launched with initiatives of productive chains with the new actors of the local economy, assuming in this way the new ways of doing and acting in the current Cuban economic scenario. Eliover Zapata Hidalgo, general director of the Company of Agricultural Supplies in the Santiago de Cuba province, by establishing this entity that arises as a need to update the marketing system of inputs and supplies to the agricultural sector in the country. The UEB integral logistics collective in Contramaestre looks for alternatives to consolidate its sales such as fairs in peasant structures, contracts with individual producers and adopts other ways to bring the peasant much closer to what he needs to develop his work. Photo: Author Osvaldo Chacón Carvajal, Commercial Specialist of the Base Business Unit for integral logistics in the Contramaestre municipality, described that they have deployed a series of productive chains with the new economic actors of the town, such as producers of paint, charcoal and hardware. Sales in the new UEB are operated in Cuban pesos and MLC, another novelty that will facilitate the rural sector access to products that are not available in other commercial areas. But to this are added other benefits related to maintenance and repairs of equipment, parts and pieces. Reynerio Rodríguez Barzaga, warehouse manager of the recently constituted Base Business Unit, explained that it is about making better use of the resources, potentialities and facilities of this type of structure, in the midst of the transformations that are being operated in the socialist state enterprise. Satisfying the demand of agricultural producers in Contramaestre is the objective with which this Business Unit was born, an essential link in the objective of encouraging the increase of the productive volumes of food in the field. During the constitution act, founding and outstanding workers were recognized, one of the nine units that will be constituted until December 15 in Santiago de Cuba.
