One of the beneficiaries is the Integral Security Locksmith Project, which under the Cepwar brand has specialized in the manufacture of safes and other security elements from raw materials of national origin. While still self-employed, at the beginning of this year, they signed a contract with their largest client in Las Tunas, the Business Group for Commerce, Gastronomy and Services, to supply them with nearly a thousand of these media. They had previously supplied entities such as the Caribe chain of stores and Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Cuba S.A. (Etcesa). Mercazona will also become a medium-sized private company, which here leads the new field of electronic commerce. This innovative project, which emerged in early 2020, has already become a platform that channels the products and services of entrepreneurs from various Cuban provinces in branches as diverse as agricultural products, restaurants, electric motorcycle parts stores, household products, laundries, candy stores, flower shops, among others. For their part, they inaugurated the branch of agriculture among the approved mypimes in the Balcón del Oriente Cubano; Vinema, focused on food production, fruit and vegetable preservation in the municipality of Jesús Menéndez; and Durobras, which in the capital territory produces briquettes from charcoal, biomass, aromatic plants and spices, carpentry waste and sawmills. So far there are eight micro, small or medium-sized companies admitted in the province of Las Tunas that cover the sectors of gastronomic services, for transport, the furniture industry and now electronic commerce, security and agriculture. On a national scale in total, the MEP has already certified 324 requests from these economic actors just over a month after the process began. Of the MSMEs, 307 are private and eight are state, and there are also nine non-agricultural cooperatives.
