Sanluisero coffee with new opportunities for its commercialization abroad
A new collaborative project benefits coffee growers in this municipality.
The program, started in 2018 by the Lavazza Foundation in collaboration with Oxfam and the Agency for Cultural Economic Exchange with Cuba, is related to the production and commercialization of conventional organic coffee. These areas must be free from the use of chemical products, it is, above all, with arabic coffee because it is obtained a soft drink on the palate and offers better prices to coffee growers, explained to this writing the Engineer Elsy María Rivero González, main specialist of the Department Productive Technician of the San Luis Agroforestry Company. A new horizon for negotiating San Luis and Cuban coffee abroad is looming with this type of project, which has among its objectives the reactivation of this high-quality crop and support for the Local Development of the coffee-growing communities of the municipality.
