The Center for Forestry Studies (CEF) belonging to the Faculty of Forestry and Agricultural Sciences of the University of Pinar del Río "Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca", is pleased to invite you to participate in the XI International Symposium on Sustainable Management of Forest Resources (SIMFOR 2021), the event will take place from November 24 to 26, 2021 at the University facilities. Dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the founding of CEF and focused on contributing to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, the State Plan to confront climate change (Life Task) and the Food Security and Nutrition Education Plan, it is convened in the hybrid modality, hoping that significant progress will be made in the control of Covid 19, and a high level of attendance is possible. OBJECTIVES: • Show the advances of Forest Sciences towards the implementation of sustainable management in Cuba and other countries in the region and the world, favoring contacts and exchanges of experiences between researchers, academics, technicians, producers, students, decision-makers and other people linked to the forestry sector. • Promote the role of forest ecosystems for the development of tourism not only in protected natural areas, but also in the productive sector, as an ideal way for recreation, learning, environmental education, conservation and raising the standard of living of local communities and society in general. • Contribute to the dissemination and exchange of knowledge and experiences on Forest Legislation and Environmental Law as key factors for conservation and production. OFFICIAL LANGUAGE The official language of the event will be Spanish. Works can be presented in poster mode in Portuguese and English. IMPORTANT DATES • Receipt of abstracts of work until October 18, 2021 • Communication on the acceptance and form of presentation until October 22, 2021 • Reception of the complete papers until November 10, 2021 with a view to being published in the event's reports with their ISBN. RULES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS • Title in capital letters and in bold (Arial 12, centered) • Name of the authors following standard publication format with superscript (Arial 11, centered) • Institution of the authors and contact address, mainly email (Arial 10, centered) • Maximum length of 250 words indicating the objective of the experience or research, some methodological elements and the most important results and conclusions (Arial 12, justified) • Keywords: maximum five words written in italics (Arial 10, left justified) • Indicate if the work is proposed for oral presentation or for poster (Arial 12, centered) • Use A4 type sheet, single line spacing with 2.5 cm margin on all edges • Abstracts should be sent in Word files to the email address indicated below.
