Beekeeping balance draws new work commitments for 2022 from Contramaestre
More than ten thousand five hundred tons of honey produced in 2021 the Cuban Beekeeping Company establishing a record figure that allowed the growth of other important productive indicators of this entity.
The Slaughter Plant Business Unit of the Contramaestre municipality made a significant contribution to this, where the plans for the production of wax sheets, export and benefit were overachieved, which earned them the flag of labor prowess. The group received such a high award in the vicinity of the site where the BANFAIC battle took place, accompanied by the first Secretary of the Party in the territory, José Ángel Labrada Castillo and the Director of the National Beekeeping Company, Lázaro Bruno García. During the balance of the work carried out in 2021, workers and managers insisted that 2022 must be a superior year, especially in quality indicators. For this, it is necessary to perfect the work system in the industry, which makes it possible to meet the rigorous requirements demanded by the foreign market. Working in strict compliance with hygiene, safety and health standards is a commitment of Contramaestre's beekeepers who, in addition to ambitious projects in their infrastructure, intend to open a mini-dose store in the first quarter of the year, an important step in the purpose to promote Contramaestre as a honey marketing pole and add profits to a company that in 2022 is going for more. 2021, the year in which Cuban beekeeping suffered the consequences of the commercial, economic and financial war of the United States government, became at the same time the period in which the National Beekeeping Company produced the highest amount of honey in its history. Neither the withdrawal of two shipping companies and one organic honey certifier, nor the limitations of containers and packaging caused by US pressure, managed to make the honey bee workers abandon their commitments. The balance of the sector in the Santiago municipality of Contramaestre ratified the commitment to continue working on the strategy of gradual recovery of the national economy and outlined more ambitious plans for this 2022.
