Agroforestry of Las Tunas are imposed on the difficulties to export coal and direct other productions
More than 266 tons of coal have been exported by agroforestry from the province of Las Tunas in the current April, a figure below the aspirations but which represents an incentive to achieve the plan of the month and produce about 3,138 tons by the end of 2021.

Isidro Herrera, director of the commercial-based business unit, said that in 2020 the plan could not be fulfilled due to the lack of raw materials and bags, and although in the current year there have been difficulties with the prices of transportation of containers and other problems with customers, the entity is in a position to achieve notable levels of exports. «We must contribute more than one million euros with the export of coal, although we are also entering the domestic market, with other productions that give us the possibility of earning freely convertible currency for the acquisition of our products. «We also work in the Mariel area with the manufacture of parles, and we look for alternatives for carpentry confections with online commercialization in the stores of the Commerce. In this way we intend to obtain the greatest amount of foreign exchange, which is the only way to advance in the purchase of raw materials. Las Tunas charcoal is produced mainly with marabou, an undesirable plant for productive areas that, however, for this heat source, has properties that make it highly demanded in the international market, because it does not spark, it has a metallic sound, and a good smell. and excellent durability, which increases your calorie for roasts and other forms of use.
