Fulfilling the productive plans, looking for reserves and potential in each territory, and overcoming material limitations, are fundamental elements to promote agriculture from Santiago in 2022.

To work better and be more efficient

This was indicated by José Ramón Monteagudo Ruiz, First Secretary of the Communist Party in the province, during an exchange with producers and municipal leaders, which was also attended by the Governor of Santiago de Cuba, Beatriz Johnson Urrutia. Banishing conformism and justifications for non-compliance are key actions in achieving superior results. “It is a principle that must be maintained at the level of the organization, municipality, company or production unit. The economic battle is fought in the workplace, because that is where values ??and wealth are created, ”said Monteagudo. At the meeting, the achievements and deficiencies that occurred in the nine municipalities during 2021 were evaluated. "This constant walk in the search for solutions must be a common denominator in the management of the year 2022," the Governor emphasized the need to integrate to all institutions involved in agricultural processes, to achieve positive and urgent balances. Both leaders, on behalf of the leadership of the Party, the Government and the people of Santiago, recognized the producers who - responding to the call to adjust prices - guaranteed various food offers in the last days of December. "We work for the people, we owe it to them and they are always attentive to what we are capable of doing," said Monteagudo. Johnson stressed that the excellent results of the end-of-year fairs complement the work carried out by the agricultural sector in the province, to supply the 118 isolation centers and hospitals that required priority attention. “We are in the implementation of the agreements of the 8th Congress of the Party, all Cubans have been called to work better and be more efficient, that is the battle we are fighting and we have to be in the first trench, not with speeches but with concrete results ”, Monteagudo called for Santiago's agriculture to live up to these demands.
